Eucalyptus seedlings growing like crazy.

Earlier this winter I sowed a lot of Eucalyptus sp. Some that I have collected myself and some that I bought. Also some seeds from a nerd friend in the USA. All from very good provenances. Some are growing fast and some are still in the fridge. The problem that I had was that some of the old seeds germinated well better than I thought. So it´s thight in the pots were they were sown. Also some of the other seeds I got were very fresh so they also germinated extremly well.

The sowing mixture contains: 40% Brittish lake gravel, 40% Perlite, 10% Swedish lake sand and 10% soil (Heatthreated).

The ones that´s in the fridge will be there 3, 4 or 6 weeks depending on species. Also testing alternative methods with temperatures, stratification etc.

Here are some of the species that are growing just now:

 Eucalyptus archeri.

Callistemon sp. From USA and there it has survived long temperatures.

 Eucalyptus camphora.

 Eucalyptus divaricata

 Eucalyptus neglecta.

 Eucalyptus parvula.

Eucalyptus praecox. Mother tree from USA.

Eucalyptus rodwayi. Mother tree from USA.

Eucalyptus urnigera.

  1. Hej Pontus:
Lever dom?
